US warships collide with Japanese vessels


TOKYO - US warship type destroyer collided with a Japanese tugboat in Sagami Bay, offshore Japan, on Saturday. The collision was recorded as the fifth incident involving the US Pacific Fleet this year.

The US Navy's 7th Fleet said the tugboat lost its driving force and moved to the USS Benfold warship. Collisions are inevitable.

Throughout this year, there have been five incidents experienced by US warships. Two of the five incidents were fatal.

On August 21, the USS John S McCain ship crashed into a commercial vessel in the Strait of Malacca off the coast of Singapore. Ten US sailors were killed and five other sailors were seriously wounded.
